There are three kinds of reading:

  1. Independent reading is easy for them and they can read such a book on their own with no problem.

  2. INSTRUCTIONAL reading is the level at which we teach at. This is where there are a few new things to learn, and yet it isn't a struggle to read.

  3. Frustration reading is when a child struggles to much with their reading. No learning can take place here.

The document to the right provides the different levels (A-Z), what the books look like at those levels, and how we as parents and teachers can help. Students are not set in stone at these levels they are just a guide.
