Kindergarten- Reference wall
Here are some cues we use with the students to help them when they are reading. We talk about how "Y" can say "I" like in the word cry, and "E" like in the word baby. Also the top words (what, want, and they) are some sight words we are practicing. The bottom word parts or chunks they reference when they use the reading strategy chunky monkey. Today a student says, "Mrs. Seeley I used a chunk!" so of course I asked, "Which one?" and he says, "/ch/ the word was lunch, /l/-/u/-/n/-/ch/." ....Soooooo proud of them!!
