5th Grade: Writing About Reading

5th graders got right to business writing about Dr. Ben Carson and the decisions he had to make in order to pursue his dream. They put Post-it notes in their book where they found evidence of Dr. Carson making some important decisions in his life. We then discussed these decisions and the three on the whiteboard were what we came up with. Then they were to write 2 paragraphs each stating a decision and why that decision had to be made in order for him to pursue his dream.
