Word sort using words with the ending -ing. The students sorted into three columns. The words that added a consonant letter to the root word before -ing (swimming), that took "e" off the root word before -ing (joking), and where -ing was just added to the root word (eating). After the sort they wrote some examples in their writing notebooks to reference again later.
